Jade Crawford, trainee solicitor within Blackadders LLP will forever be indebted to the staff at Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). CHAS provide care for Scottish children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
Jade’s nephew, Calum, had a severe brain injury at birth, resulting in cerebral palsy. Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross offered support to Jade and her family through home visits, care and respite. Sadly Calum passed away at the age of six but the team at Rachel House were able to support Jade’s family, moving Calum to a special room to allow his family to be with him.
“The CHAS team were there, every step of the way, helping us process what had happened, even assisting with the funeral.”
CHAS continue to support Jade and her family even now.
Jade and 16 other brave souls are walking from St Andrews to Dundee (over 20 miles) on 20 August 2023, whilst wearing a kilt.
Jade is captaining a team of girls (Blackadders’ Barbies) and Employment Law Partner, Simon Allison, is captaining the team of boys (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Sprints).
Both teams are raising money for CHAS.
Similarly, if you can offer any words of encouragement or even some blister packs, that would be appreciated.
The team will be tweeting (X-posting?) on the day, using the hashtag #HarryPotterAndTheHalfBloodSprints #BlackaddersBarbies #KiltWalkDundee
Even if you can’t give them any sponsorship, please send them a tweet (X-post?) or message via LinkedIn or an email, wishing them well.
